Hi,

I'm Erin.

I like to go places and make things.

The places I go inspire the things I make.

In my eyes, places are magical. Each one has a unique personality defined by the shape of the landscape as well as the vegetation and wildlife that inhabit it. In order for me to truly understand the importance of a place, however, I find that I must interact with it. Whether it be through skiing, climbing, boating, hiking, swimming, running or biking, I find that human-powered movement opens my eyes to the intricacy of the world around me.

I often see characters in plants, natural formations, and everyday objects; I find humor in the human-like qualities I see woven into the fabric of our visual and material worlds. I identify with the emotions I see in these characters' faces and in their body language. Connecting with the personalities in a place is how I come to understand its importance in the world and, more importantly, how I find a sense of belonging there.

Through art, I've discovered many ways to visually represent the many worlds that I see around me. In experimenting with different styles and different media, I strive to understand how my worldview fits into existing artistic, academic, social and political paradigms.
